Project Work

The aims of this project are as follows:

1. Students are able to translate from English into Thai
2. Students learn new academic vocabularies
3. Students learn how to write, edit an essay from Video-clip in English
4. Writing skills; composing sentence, editing content.
5. Team work in the classroom.

The plan of this project is to demonstrate how to gather information from the video clip (Sick around the world) http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/sickaroundtheworld/view/ and put in Thai writing. Students as a class will watch the video-clip in English together then they will discuss and obtain the concept from the video clip in Thai. Teacher and students will help each other to find the key vocabularies, sentence structures in order to compose a paragraph or comment on about the video. Then teacher will post the written material that the class are doing together on the blog as an example. Students need to watch a new video clip on the blog then come up first with the vocabulary and out line then writing the comment.

The outcome of this project will be that students see and understand the writing process and able to know how to use the academic vocabulary correctly. The time length will be about two blocks to prepare students for their own work.
