Understanding the presentation layout

From the class, I recognized the important of the presentation layout that would impact the audience. It seems that the layout has to be concised and choosing pictures or any visual sign are very important to the audience and the message that I would like to convey. Picture is one of the tool that enhance meaning and make the audience engage. There has been no doubt that students will understand when explanation come with a clear picture. Pictures communicate rich information that can be easily grasped by the reader.

The focus on layout, I believe, student will be trained on not only learn the information but also how to create the learnt information in digital form. It is certainly will be a useful skill for their future because presentation skill will be part of their working life. "One of the most important reasons that we communicate is to affect the behavior of other people. You want someone to have a higher regard for you. You may want someone to pick your plan for improvement over that of a competitor or colleague. You may want to affect the voting behavior of constituents, homework habits of your students, or buying habits of consumers. These are all accomplished by expressing ideas clearly and compellingly." (Redefining Literacy for the 21st Century by David F. Warlick, Publish Inc.2004). From this quote it is important that students should be trained how to use digital information.

I have to accept that for me it is very hard to create one. My generation might not be such creative like the younger ones. It takes me so long to construct a good power point presentation. The skills I need is to be able to summarize the information into one picture, which I think is very difficult.

However, in my presentation about the Thai tone is just very basic. It gives the audience the general idea what is Thai tones and it is rather a difficult issue for second language learners.
